New York's
climate
ranges from the stickily hot and humid in July & August to well below
freezing in January and February. I would avoid visiting during Mid-Summer and Mid-Winter to bypass the extreme temperatures.
Spring is gentle, yet unpredictable, and usually
wet. Fall is perhaps the best season! Come at either time and
you'll find it easier to get things done and the locals are much more welcoming.
Whatever time of year you visit New York, always dress in layers. The buildings tend to be
overheated during winter months and air-conditioned to the maximum in summer.
Also bring comfortable and sturdy shoes - you should plan on doing a lot of walking.
